COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS
Through scholarship golf tournaments and a scholarship fundraiser raffle ticket sale, Northwestern PA GCSA, Inc. has been awarding scholarships to college turf science students employed by one of our members for many years. Beginning in 2009, the scholarship opportunities were expanded to include non-turf college students who are children or grandchildren of any of our members. This is an unprecedented service to our members! Each applicant must have completed one full year of college before applying.
Turf Scholarship - To apply for a turf scholarship, each applicant must submit the following:
- The scholarship application
- A typed response to the questions in the scholarship applicant's statement
- The golf course superintendent's report
- A transcript of grades and classes
- One letter of reference
Non-Turf Scholarship - To apply for a non-turf scholarship, each applicant must submit all of the above with the exception of the golf course superintendent's report. Remember, this scholarship is for children and grandchildren of any NWPGCSA member pursuing any college degree.
To receive copies of the scholarship guidelines, the scholarship application, scholarship applicants statement (questions), and the golf course superintendent's report, email a request to nwpgcsa@zoominternet.net.
THE APPLICATION DEADLINE IS JULY 1ST OF EACH YEAR
PEER TURF ADVISORY SERVICE
NWPGCSA offers this service to any superintendent or assistant superintendent who requests a visit by fellow superintendent members to discuss pest problems, construction techniques, or every day course maintenance issues. We believe that high quality golf courses can be affordable and that fellow superintendents are the true experts in golf course maintenance. In today's economy, many of our members simply cannot afford the cost of consulting services offered by other organizations. This benefit offers one visit annually to our superintendent or assistant superintendent members at no charge. After the first visit if the member asks for any additional visits within the same calendar year, a donation to the NWPGCSA operating fund will be requested.

Our "Front Nine News" newsletter is published digitally. To view the latest copy, email a request to nwpgcsa@zoominternet.net.
MEMBERSHIP DIRECTORY
In the spring of each year, a new membership directory is published and given to every member. Currently, the only way to receive a directory is via mail once membership has been established.
